In 2020 I began work on rebranding former EMS FP&S truck and trailer parts. The new trading name of the company is now European Maintenance Supplies (EMS), part of the German truck and trailer parts supply chain BPW Group.
As part of this project, a whole new brand identity needed to be developed to help establish the company's new vision.
For the design of their logo, I was inspired by the classic chevron shapes of tyre tread marks. Combined with a slanted font type, I was able to achieve a sense of motion.
The Pantone colours used were inherited by the German parent company BPW. When doing my initial research into the automotive industry I concluded that silvery grey colours are synonymous with the automotive industry, representing steel used to make the majority of auto parts. Thus I made the addition of a third brand colour - Cool Gray 1 C.
I developed a set of detailed brand guidelines to make sure the identity of the brand was maintained and provided the UK head office team with the necessary templates, enabling them to produce on-brand documents for both internal and external use.
Some of the templated designs I produced were for PowerPoint presentations, quotes and invoices, manager's specials, business cards, letterheads, envelopes, compliment slips, note blocks and notepads.

Then came the customer-facing part I enjoyed the most, promotional materials. We started with the rebranding of their site in Warrington, UK. For this, I designed new internal and external signage which helped bring my designs to life. I mocked up designs for their new staff uniforms, promotional feather flags and my personal favourite, the company's service vehicles. I especially loved the slogan 'Driving the nation' which I strategically placed on the roof of the vehicle to make this visible by lorry drivers.
Since then, I have worked on rebranding another one of their sites in Durham, UK and helped with the design and development of marketing collateral like catalogues, brochures, flyers, emails etc.
